  8. Introduction

  11.    This is the first Thai-font available on the Amiga, that I know of.
  12.    Or actualy, there exists one, called Bangkok.font, but it uses some
  13.    wierd encoding, that seems to map the wanted keys directly onto
  14.    the keyboard. Thus any other keymap then the US1 will render it
  15.    useless. (Also text written using Bangkok.font can _only_ be used
  16.    with that font, and thus can't be used for WWW-browsers or EMails.)

  18.    This pack features one fontset, size 36. Ie. the total height is 36
  19.    pixels, but only about 14 are used for normal latin charecters.

  21.    The width of the font is proportional.

  23.    The fontset is build using the TIS-620 standard. Futher info is

  28. Recommandation

  31.    When using this fontset, I'll reccomand that you use the Thai-keymap
  32.    files I've made. They are available from text/font and is called
  33.    Thai-keymaps.lha
  34.  
  35.    Most editors on the Amiga has great difficulties using proportional
  36.    fonts, and thay have even more difficulties using proportional fonts
  37.    that have negative kernings on some of the chars.
  38.  
  39.    I've found that programs that uses the textfield.gadget has no problems
  40.    using this kind of fonts.
  41.    IntuiNews for the Universal Message System (UMS) is one of these
  42.    programs.

  44.    If you want to use the font in the shell - which dosn't like proportional
  45.    fonts - select the font like this:   (The font must be placed in Fonts:)

  63. BUGS I CAN'T FIX

  66.    These bugs are in the opperativsystem, and has nothing to do with
  67.    the font.

  69.       *  Editors, textviewer and the Shell can't handle proportional
  70.          fonts correcly.

  72.       *  The system dosn't support Kerning-pairs.
